Because you know I can't resist a meme....
1. Egg nog or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate....with peppermint, please!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree?
He almost always wraps unless it's an awkward package.
3. Colored or white lights on the tree?
Just bought a new tree, pre-lit, and the lights are white. The kids were ticked. They prefer colored. I do have colored lights on the wooden tree my dad made me.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
I have in the past, but not for several years.
5. When do you put up your decorations?
Usually Thanksgiving weekend sometime. And I usually take them all down the day after Christmas. I'm sick of them by then.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
Green bean casserole and stuffing.
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Probably spending Christmas Day at my grandparents' house with all my cousins.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I was in third grade and Michelle Smith told me.
9. Do you open gifts on Christmas Eve?
The only presents we open on Christmas morning are from Santa. Everything else on Christmas Eve.
10. How do you decorate your tree?
Very carefully. I thought this year I could actually decorate the bottom third of my tree (finally), but the puppy has discovered if the jumps he can reach those ornaments. So, for the freaking 12th Christmas in a row, I have a tree decorated only on the top 2/3. Lovely. Maybe next year.
11. Snow?
As long as it's gone by December 26th, I'm just fine with it.
12. Can you ice skate?
I used to be able to, but it's been a very, very long time. Don't know if I could even stand on skates anymore.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
How can I pick just one favorite. I do remember, very vividly, getting my Cabbage Patch Kid in 1984 or whatever. I was very surprised and delighted.
14. What's the important thing about the holidays for you?
Making it special for my kids.
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
I'd give my right arm for one of my Grandma Ruby's Nut Goodies. They were soooo good!!!!!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
I have two. I love taking my kids out to see all the pretty Christmas lights and I love making homemade pizza on Christmas Eve. We ate pizza on Christmas Eve when I was a kid and Mike thinks it's just blasphemous, but I like it and refuse to give it up.
17. What tops your tree?
A paper Santa that Micah colored in school one year. I've never seen an angel tree-topper that didn't freak me out.
18. Which do you prefer-giving or receiving.
Giving.
19. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Silent Night.
20. Candy canes? In hot chocolate or a mocha, but I don't eat them just to eat them.
21. Do you think Christmas is too commercialized?
Yes. That's a no-brainer.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
I vividly remember being 4 or 5, outside my Grandpa Hoffart's house and he and my dad pointing up in the dark Christmas Eve sky at what could ONLY have been Santa's Sleigh flying through the air.
But, I love the memories of my children's Christmas Past *much better. :)
Like the year West got his Barney video, and stopped opening gifts *completely. He'd only watch "Baaabby!!!"
Or when Emily ate all the gingerbread house frosting, and insisted she didn't, but her hair was coated with white, hard snow...
Or when a fireman friend of our family was in the firetruck carrying Santa through the neigborhood, so Santa called out "Have you been good, Westley?" and West earnestly yelled back over and over, "Yes, Santa I'm a good boy!!!!! I help Mama with my baby!!!" He was 3. I got all teary...lmao
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?

The kid's only open one each...it's a tradition for me to try to influence (trick) them into opening the only article of clothing under the tree...their annual pajama package!:) lol

White lights, silver strand beads, blue and silver balls(never scratched ones)and everyone gets 1 ornament each year, as a memory of something for that year. Hanging them from baby til today is fun, remembering Clifford and Barbie and Batman and Barney.
